Ingredients

  • 2 15-ounce cans chickpeas or 3 cups cooked chickpeas
  • 1⁄4 Cup fresh lemon juice (1 large lemon)
  • 2-3 tbsp well-stirred tahini (it separates so mix well)
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped or 1⁄4 - 1⁄2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1⁄4 - 1⁄2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1⁄4 - 1⁄2 tsp chili powder

  • 1⁄2 tsp sea salt or more to taste

  • Add 2 - 4 TBSP olive oil as you blend to get very creamy.
  • Add water as you blend to thin to a consistency you like.
  • Enjoy with Sliced Veggies, Pita Bread, Chips, on a Sandwich, etc!

Notes

Some ideas for swapping ingredients:
  • Chickpeas or Garbanzo beans - any bean! Use a can
of any bean you have on hand!
  • Lemon - Limes or bottled lemon/lime. Try a splash of
vinegar as a replacement for fresh lemon
  • Olive oil - use any oil that is around - avocado,
    coconut, canola, vegetable oil
  • Garlic Powder - use a clove of fresh garlic if you don’t
    have powder
  • Try adding any fresh or dried herbs you have!
