Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center started providing field trips for local youth in 2012. We now utilize our 7.85-acre educational garden and teaching kitchen to apply science-based environmental education lessons, hands-on gardening, and hands-on cooking to promote sustainable agriculture, healthy eating and healthy living for local students!
We offer a three-part field trip series to all National School District 4th graders with standards-based, grade appropriate & culturally relevant garden-based lessons. Activities include:
- Nutritious recipe tasting and/or cooking lesson
- Environmental education activity
- Active gardening or garden exploration activity
